Thanks....as for the law, Alberta doesn't have emissions testing, but I want to make the car look like it has a cat....I have my stock downpipe but I need a 02 sensor to make it look good, there is an 02 Impala at the dump so I'm just going to take the o2 sensor, if it doesn't plug on the connector I'm just taping it on...my car will have the HP tune when I trade it

I think you should de-mod it as much as you can before they see the car. If they didn't know it was there they won't know what you removed. Take off the downpipe the strut tower braces the intake and replace it all with the factory stuff if you still have it. After all you can resell all that stuff and put the money towards the new Borla exhaust you want. Just my .02$

I might take off the strut tower brace and some others....NOT THE HEADERS..
I found an O2 sensor off a chevy venture mini-van, I know it wont work but I'm just dummy it.

The headers would cost more money to remove than the resale could give, I totally understand that, thats why I didn't mention taking them off!

I went from a 2004 GP GTP CompG and I like the G8 so much better. The 6.0 V8 responds very well to a tune and a CAI, plus it rides/handles fantastic. The tune also helps the trans shift a lot better than the stock tune. I have custom made Borla axlebacks and they sound good, but if you want zero drone I suggest the Solo axlebacks. Enjoy your new ride!

If he has them done it will be atleast $40 an hr and prolly 4-6 hrs of work. Costing him atleast $300 with new gaskets, and he might be able to get $400 with shipping, if he ships to his country, Canada, he may be able to make $100 or so. But if he ships to the states he's even at best! Trust me I sent him some parts and forgot about the extra it costs to ship out of the USA .

Actually, it might actually be worth getting them removed. Considering he didn't pay for them and that they have more use for someone on this forum versus sitting on the dealer lot (or auction).

If he and a buddy do it,it may cost a few 12pks and the cost of gaskets($40) which is cheapier then a shop...I would never pay that much to have the headers taken off...

Well I de-mod my car today...took off: K&N Intake, Air Raid TBS, Smoked LED tail lights, STB and the GXP metal brake/gas pedals. (car looks different)
the headers and exhaust is staying on, car goes in on thursday to get the cat welded back on.

I got a friend buying all the parts in Red Deer Alberta.

I no longer own the Grand Prix, traded in today for the 09 G8 GT....payments are only 7 dollars more a month than the GXP.

G8 GT's are fast, faster than my GXP with the mods I had.

I'd rather have the 18" wheels since the roads in my area are full of potholes. Plus 18" tires are MUCH cheaper than 19's and the sport package doesn't make it any faster.
