Default First Kill

Ok I am going to try to make this as short as possible.....On my way home from work today I hit a red light. A car pulled next to me but I didn't care to look and see what kind it was. When the light turned green, he guns it. So we are both stopped at the next light, when he gives the nod. When the light turned green, it was all over. I had such a good jump on him I couldn't believe it. We went 0-60, and I pulled 1/2 length on him.

When we were at the next light, he gave me props because he thought it was a fake GXP, like a GTP with a GXP body or something. I too gave him props for having such a clean, mean sounding car. I mean this thing sounded great. I originally couldn't hear it at the first red light because I had the radio on.

That was the only run we did because he was making a right at that last light. BTW it was a 5.0 Mustang (should have probably stated that earlier but watev).

This was my first race, and I think I did really well. I usually just practice my launch in the back roads here in Buffalo. If I ever see him again, count on hearing another update lol...

Congrats.

I've only seen one 'fake' GXP and it was a Comp G on another site, lol.

5.0 stopped in 95. From 96-2010 they were all 4.6.

OP, was this a Fox or a SN95? Eitherway they are pretty slow stock, but at least the fox is light. Even a S/C 3800 would've most likely won as a fake GXP. Good kill.

:edit: that's a foxbody. stock they have around 220hp and a heavy vert makes for an easy kill.

I have no idea what his mods were, but I can tell you that he was not stock. As far as I could tell, just by the sound of it that is.

That might not be the exact body of the mustang, but I am having a hard time finding one like it.

^^^ Doesn't look like that. It looks more like the one I posted, only it seemed to have a longer front end.

Rule of thumb to live by is that there is no such thing as a stock Fox body.

Good kill, man!

They didn't call them 5.0's after 95. The 96 GT badge even says 4.6 on it.

The black one posted is a Hatchback GT that's why it looks different. The verts came from the coupe/notchback body. It would be an LX 5.0 Vert.

True, but the better part of modded 5.0 foxes are just intake/catback/pro 5.0 shifter.

Gotcha. There's a lot of automotivally challenged people out there. It's just a shame that those people have been so dumb for so long that they end up coming full circle to be correct again.

OP, it most likely looked like this, correct?

i did the stop light to stop light with a newer mazda 3 or something and I don't think he liked it. He revved his engine at the red light so I figure he wanted to play. He floored it when he went by me at my stop.

It's hard to say. The 5.0 he had looked more "modern" than that. Maybe he added some things to it to look the way it did IDK.
