lean code?
Ok guys any of you with a FWI throwing a p0118 code? Its a to lean bank 1 code. I got the code after installing the fwi and i am pretty sure its just getting to much air? I am thinking of just taking it off. If any one has the same problem or a solution to it?

yes nothing else is done to the car. It was fine before i put the fwi on. I had a cai on my GTP and had the same code but then realized I didnt tighten a screw. I have double checked everything and its tight.

Too much misread of the MAF causes the O2 closed loop long term fuel trims to add more and more fuel to offset the misread; when any one trim reaches its max threshold, the codes pop.
Check all your connections.

I have a similar problem except no matter what I do the code comes back eventually. sometimes it'll come back as no code just a check engine light followed by a couple days of driving which then comes up the P0 code lol
The techs in my local area just scratch there heads and pull the battery cable. then send me on my way.
I chalk it up to faulty wiring somewhere. I'm not going to spend 100's to fix it when a quick turn of a socket can fix it temporary.
Also this happened to start when I did a intake swap.
Could I tune it out somehow?

I wouldnt tune it out because there can be so many other reasons why that same code came on. but I know it is my intake I just figured I would post to see if anybody had it and got rid of it somehow with out changing the intake again. SigmaX6 do you have a fwi too?

MAF screen is critical on these cars. If you remove it or it gets damaged or twisted a little sideways, you get a lean bank code, usually when it is hot or you have some heat soak after running the car hard for a while and restarting it. Like after getting gas on a Summer road trip.

Back when I put on my K&N kit I thru a code. Bought some electronics cleaning spray and took the MAF out and sprayed it down, unhooked the ECM and TCM and sprayed all that down, unhooked the battery and hooked it back up. Hasn't thrown that code since.
Every year when I re oil the filter I spray the connectors and MAF down.
