Default What are your basic mods for these cars?

Hey guys,

I might be picking up an Impala SS this week.. and I was just wondering, what is everyone running in these? I'm used to the LS1 "scene."

Just a K&N Intake and a catback exhaust? Any headers, torque converters, stuff like that?

Some brand suggestions and websites would be great.

Thanks everyone

Tune, exhaust, and save your money for a new trans.

EDIT: And buy the biggest trans cooler you can find.

That about covers it. Headers, intake swaps (not a bolt-in ordeal mind you), exhaust (plan on custom making it if you want more than 2.5"), tune, catless DPs, ported TB, etc, etc.

I wish I saved my money for the turbo kit from the beginning if I was serious about building a fun car.

Your FIRST mod should be Don Rome STB's....Then go catless. Rockers will really wake your car up (so I'm told ).

01 SS A4. 38k miles. Black Leather. Has some black ZR1s, Hotchkis springs, a K&N and an exhaust.

I just need the money from my car first. Anybody know someone that is looking for an LS4 car?

Any rockers for LS1s will work, you'll probably want 1.8 ratios.

For install you'll need basic hand tools and a torque wrench. I think that's all...
