HID help -- what should I buy?? Hey all,
I am looking to put some HIDs on the low beams and fogs. I am thinking 4300K, 4500K, or 5000k. I don't think i will do the 6000K as I do not want the light to be too blue.
It seems that a lot of people are running DDM HIDs, but what do you guys think of the ebay brands, such as the ones below:

I bought 3 different Ebay HID kits and they all worked fine for many years. The ones you posted will get the job done, but the kits with the slim ballasts are more reliable and it's easier to find a place to mount them. I have 5000K bulbs and they are really bright with just a slight blue color to them. 4300K are bright white and closer to most OEM HID's in color.
Stick with 4300K-4500K for an OEM-like bright white output.
DDM's color chart makes it seem like 5000K is bright white. Unfortunately, many owners have reported that there's some blue hue in some shape or form.
I'd recommend two regular (Apexcone Raptor) or two slim ballasts at 35W each:
One with 9006 bulbs (for lows) and the other with H11 bulbs (for fogs - our fogs are projectors). I'd also get the HID harness as well. Though I'm not sure if you'd need two harnesses.
If you plan on doing a projector retrofit, then go with D2S bulbs (for lows) as this is the standard [high quality] projector bulb.
