Default new to the site and have a question

so i bought a 2007 chevy impala ss w/ 5.3L like five weeks ago and latelty when i drive it, when i accelerate the car rolls forward and then it feels like a second after it rolls forward it kicks into gear and jerks you back. i took it to the dealer and they said that the kind of tranny it has is one where it adjust to your driving and that it was normal. but the way it like waits to shift doesnt seem normal to me and im pretty sure it has nothing to do to the active fuel management thing. if anyone can help me out and give me insight, itd be greatly appriciated. thanks.

Another LS4 with a trans problem...Shocking.

When the trans started to go in my Impala, there were no codes and no warning lights.

The behavior you're seeing is not normal and is an early signs of trans failure.

If you bought from a GM dealer and the car was ceritfied, then take it to another dealer to get it looked at. It should be covered under warranty.

Many of us have been through this, and you just have to make sure you take it to a dealer than understands these cars.

i plan on taking it to a chevy dealer but its 100$ for them to check and if the tranny is bad then i dont have to pay that but i dont wanna take a chance in taking it to them and them find nothing wrong or that it will shift perfectly for them, my plan is to wait untill its becomes worse then take it but i was just seeing if it was something i could fix.

Just be careful. The trans could go suddenly or last another year. As soon as you sense it getting worse, take it in!

I would agree with what everyone else is saying here. My tranny is slowly slipping and my car has 86k on it. I experience hard shifts and sometimes a slip or two. It is very rare that it happens, but it has happened on a few occasions since I bought the car a little over a year ago. Just be careful and make sure that the dealership is not giving you the run around because sometimes they really do not want to fix a dying tranny problem. Most dealerships know the notorious nature of these tranny's and the warranty companies do not want to fork over the dough to fix them. That is what my friend who is a service advisor at a dealership told me about our trannys.

Carl Black is now a Chevrolet dealership. Take it to them if the one you took it to didn't satisfy your inquiry.

A lot of choices in the metro area.
