okay so i have an 07 impala ss and i am debating on what type of exhaust to get and i would like some input. im thinking about a 40 or 50 series flowmaster or a magnaflow. i want it to sound like a beefy but i also dont want it to be really loud in the car.
your input is greatly appriciated.

Start with removing the resonator. If it's not loud enough I'd go with the Flowtech afterburners.
This is catless so your setup would be quieter:

Shouldn't. Might have to fight your dealer on it, some are gracious about it some not, but the law states that the burden of proof is on them to prove that the modification caused a certain failure...theoretically they could say that the increase in power from aftermarket exhaust cause (for instance) the trans to fail. Surely they wouldn't be that ****...but the possibility is always there.

if you don't think that is loud enough after you cut out the res get either a magnaflow or the afterburners and that should be perfect for what you want. oh and if you can cut out the res yourself and weld in new pipe it will be super cheap to do.

I've got a resonator delete only. Rest of the car is stock.
So if you want to meet up and hear what it sounds like let me know. I think it cost me like $40 to get it removed at Ice Cold Auto Air on 50 a couple of years ago. Still have the resonator somewhere too.

Whats quieter, flowmasters or magnaflows? The reason I ask, is because Im going to get a full exhaust next spring. Hi Flow cat, full 3" pipes, and since I got my cutout, I can open it as loud as I want. I just want something subtle for daily driving, but not to quiet, lol. Listening to a lot of these videos doesnt do much, because I know how much the microphones really dull out the noise.
