Physically yes. But the aluminum hurts you pretty bad as far as heat soak goes. I don't see any reason for it on our motors. LS1/6 should be plenty.

I'd like an ls6 intake but they're a bit too difficult to modify, if this can be modified the same as an ls1 then I'll take it

I'd have to say it'd be just as bad if not worse. Plenum volume *should* be larger than the LS6. At least I would hope so in an aftermarket intake.

Just get a Ls1 intake. 650.00 plus shipping is crazy. I bet you'd only gain about 7hp over a ls1 on a cold motor. Once it heats up you'll probly make less power then the LS4 intake.

that may be true but I'm really interested in this intake, and the 650 is for the polished one, I would want the satin one that runs around 450

If it was worth the money, the LSx community would have jumped on it. I guarantee you F-body guys would be all over a cheaper alternative to the FAST. Besides, there are guys making PLENTY of power out of larger displacement engines using stock LS6 intakes.

That being said. Buy it and let us know what kind of results you see out of it.

I was wondering if you guys think the ls1 > stage 2 ls4 as far as horsepower and I was wondering if anyone would be willing to mod an ls6 intake for me to work on our cars

I too was wondering if any one could mod one of the ls6 intakes for me since porting our stock ls4 intake just doesn't gain us much. Plus power to cost the ls6 is a lot better than a ported ls4. Now that I'm thinking anout this Alabama guy said he might be willing to mod the ls6 intakes and sell them to us. Maybe he will chime in here and clarify this?

Has anyone tried to enlarge the neck on the LS4 intake?

It necks down to clear the OPSU, but it clears it by quite a bit. What about cutting out the necked down portion of the intake and reshaping that area to either just clear (keeping the OPSU stock) or making it fully round by modifying the OPSU boss.

Either way you should see a significant improvement and it would be the simpliest/cheapest upgrade option.

The LS4 intake is overall puny compared to the LS1. Side by side the difference is striking.

The Weiand intakes are decent intakes for what they are. The results I have seen net that they make just barely noticable gains and only in the upper RPM areas. As Alabama Guy stated that with the limited room (both to the bottom of the hood and between the valve covers) there is NOT alot of room for air to pass over it to cool it down.

I have seen several in person and they are pretty nice looking pieces (the guy that won the car show at LS Fest from Athens, AL has a polished Weiand intake), so I could see from a show and shine point of view. They typically are really nice looking intakes.

The biggest argument from the f-body crowd is the power per dollar argument. Since these intake are not but minutely better and only in a very small range (for typical people) then just spend the $100 less and get a LS6 intake. If most people are going to take the dive to spend the money on an aftermarket intake most people just spend the extra money and get the ~15RWHP AND Torque and not just 5 or 7.

I hope this helps.

Digging the sig Travis. S.A.R. FTW!!!!

I know that Travis (Alabama Guy) is making an ls1 intake swap kit, including the modded valley tray and alt. bracket. I wanted to know if this modded valley tray would also work with the ls6 intake swap and retain DOD. If it does, I just need to find someone that is willing to mod the ls6 intake to work. Thanks.

It should. The most you might have to do is take the plug off and extend it like this:
LS2 Swap

If anything, that intake neck might get in the way of the plug and you'd have to do that ^.

Where?

Anyone who's asked you straight up has been ignored or deflected (as above).

Prove that it exists or quit talking about it. All you're doing is creating false hopes of a standalone plug and play kit.

I'm not going to attempt to bypass the rules of the site and solicit without being a sponsor. I am not peddling a product or a service here. You'll have to use other resources to find what you're looking for. I'm sorry I can't be any more help but it's not worth it. Rules are there for a reason and sponsors pay good money to advertise here. Money that I don't have.

Wait what? So how did the Don Rome STBs and Doug Thorley headers pass?

You're not breaking any rules if you post pictures of your swap with details and potential gains.
