I have bee wondering about this as well Right now I have a magnaflow cat back and was wondering how different would it sound if I cut out the res. Also does any one know about a high flow cat or cutting out the cat on a GXP?
Or does NOLA have emissions?

here is mine with Thrush Welded series mufflers and no resonator, they werent broken in yet, this was like the day after ... now theyve quieted down a bit and you can really only hear the exhaust over casual stereo volumes around 2200 -2600 rpm ... but i like the sound so much more than stock and considering mufflers, pipe to replace the res and labor were totalled less than 200 ... id say it was worth it, i would ditch the Cat but unfortunately i live in illinois ... and the "al gore" mentality is alive and well here
