Default Cylinder 1 misfire

First off this site if awesome. I’ve had my monte ss for a little over a year and I have trolled this site ever since, great information.
Now for the bad news, as the title says my check engine light came on today, so I took it to autozone and they told me it had a cylinder 1 misfire. Anybody have this issue before? Is it something as simple as replacing the plug? Anybody know which cylinder is #1? Got a date with the dealer on Wednesday but hoping to fix it before.

When you find out which one cylinder 1 is. Try swapping a coil and see if the misfire moves to that cylinder. Then try the plug. This way you can see if it's a coil or plug.

open hood, number 1 will be in the front, all the way to the left. Closest to your battery.

Just had the same thing happen to me recently - cylinder #1 as well. The engine started idling a bit rough and then the check engine light came on. In my case it was the spark plug that was fouled (I believe this is one of the DOD cylinders). I changed all the plugs (none of the others were fouled) and it is running smooth again with no codes.

How many miles are on your car for the plug to be THAT bad? Oh, and welcome.

Car has about 40,000 miles on it, mainly city driving. It also goes through about a quart of oil in 3k but from what i gather thats normal.

Ah, I changed mine around 45000 because it was extremely rich. Mine's one of the few that doesn't burn oil apparently.

I planned on doing a tune up at 50,000, even though the owner's manual says the plugs are good for 100k (what the f*** ever...). I may even do it this spring after seeing this. Mine does not burn oil either, but I should probably just do it anyways.

I had the same problem as well a couple of months ago. Cylinder 1 at around 40k. Changed the plug and that was it. Seems like this is a common problem.

I had the same problem, a piece of the porcelain insulator around the spark plug tip had actually broken and the plug fouled. I replaced the plug and it was fine, car is up for the winter, but in the spring, it gets all new plugs.

I also had this happen on cyl #1 with about 10000 km on a new set of plugs. I am wondering if oil buildup in the intake manifold is making its way to #1 and fouling the plug.

Need some help. Car was idling very badly last night. Felt like the car was trying stall. Once I gave it gas it went away. Then a couple of blocks from my house the check engine light started to blink. Started car this morning, sounded like it was only on two cylinders. Ran code check on it - PO300. All cylinders missfire? camshaft sensor? I'm currently in the middle of replacing the spark plugs and wires, trying to avoid changing the coils if possible, although I'd like to, (not sure if autozone has anything in stock). Car has 90k miles on it, I'm the original owner and drive it hard. The outer spark plugs have a bit of oil on the thread, is this normal? Am I looking at something worse? I really want to avoid taking it to the dealership, I know if its the sensor I would need to take it to them to have it reset after its replaced. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
