I hate cops

So today i go to my dads work and they have an impala there. well it had the ss wheels on it but no ss emblems or anything. It had light bars on it so i went to check it out. Then i see the ss on the steering wheels and on the headrests. I hate cops! seriously!

A buddy of mine works for a local pd and told me they just bought two Impala SS I thought he was bullshitting but I guess not.

Impala would make a perfect unmarked - the major majority of people who drive them are 30+, and I would bet a good number are 50 to retired. Plus the 3.9 is faster than the Crown Vic's V8. Don't know why they would chose the V8 with it's durability issues and gas mileage.

Besides, you can't stealth out a Police Interceptor. Your area has a history of using cars like the Z28 on the highway.

No reason to hate cops.

no but im 99% sure its an ls4. why would there be a ss steering wheel and headrest with ss wheels?

That's an SS instrument cluster, too. It looks like an SS without the exterior enhancements...My kind of car!

I'm surprised we don't have them in SoCal. Going back 20 years, we've had CHP 5.0 Mustangs, LS1 Camaros, and the Los Angeles FBI chapter even had a pair of Grand Nationals back in the late 80's.

This would be a neat fit.

People have their reasons for making visual "enhancements."

It's not an LS4 until you've seen the engine.

Freaking doubtful. There are no factory "beef-up" parts for the LS4's 4T65-HD. We already have the strongest available version of that transmission.

I think the 3.9 liter law-enforcement units get a stronger version of the stock V6 transmission, but I'm not certain if it's even an HD.

Nice to know next time i head that direction. We have a Red BMW 3 series unmarked sedan running around in evansville. That is sneaky.

My town has an unmarked Challenger R/T. I tried to get him to run when he first got it, good thing I wasn't aggressive in trying to get a bite lol

There's also a couple Impala SS's also, but they're in some drug squad, not regular officers.
