Default jp and i ran again today

jp won both times from a 40 roll
at first it was fairly even but he would steadily increase a gap between us. the longer we went the further he seemed to get. jp for sure had an improvement on his part from last time. idk about jp but i had little over quarter tank of 87 octane.

jp : magnaflow catback, no cat or resonator, k&n intake, lower grill removed, and a fantastic new tune!!!!

me: wrapped crossover, flipped mm,

Try running 91 or 93 in it, and I guarantee you'll make it closer race. Given his mods, I'm surprised you stayed that close running such poor fuel.

These cars get a ton of knock retard with 91 octane on the stock tune. I can only imagine how bad it is with 87.

Just curious...Why run 87? The difference in price between 87 & 91 is like $3.00 a tank. Yet you've taken time to mod the car. Not trying to be a Dick, but I'm wondering why you wouldn't run the best fuel you can find?

When running similar cars, you have to also take driver weight into consideration, just saying. And, yeah, why 87? What gear?

^ I removed the back seats and some other stuff and it weighed 3470.

We done the 40 rolls in 2nd, due to my traction issues. Had a full tank of 93, I weigh 300 and my car was full weight plus, tonight.

Just came back to provide some info, y'all take care.

the reason i had 87 octane was because my mom asked to use my car earlier that day ( sometimes she just likes to drive it) i said yeah sure, and she was just trying to be nice and she filled it halfway with regular gas for me because she knew i was going on a cruise with a bunch of local car enthusiast such as jp that night ( 318racing.org) .
usually i would have premium though.

I read in some thread your GXP didn't have a sunroof. That's awesome! Wonder how much weight that saves?

I wish I could get rid of mine, or have gotten a GXP without one.

I would just like to say everyone is correct on the knock retard. I actually put some in my GXP and hooked the scanner up to it and even idling I had a small amount of KR, Going down the road it was crazy so I run 93. All the time.

unfortunately i believe i am the factor that slows my monte down the most, not lack of performance mods or anything else ... because i weigh nearly 320, and at 6'8'' i dont exactly get in the monte, i kind of wear it ... but this is the case for most cars ive ever driven ...

I had my car weighed recently and with the passenger seat removed, no spare tire/jack and an almost empty tank of gas I came in at 3700 lbs. 3470 is great.

i thought stealthls4? ( i think thats his name) didnt he do a bunch of weight reduction done in his, no rear seat and what not? that 3700lbs seems a little odd since you had the seat and everything out of it. i wonder how accurate the scale you used was.
