Well I just spent 40 minutes taking the Monte out of a 4 foot snow drift that is my driveway.

Took another 5 minutes to get it into the garage.

My company recently got bought by a bigger one...they have offices in Houston and Atlanta...think I should ask for a transfer??

I don't think I have seen snow like this since I was a kid...its nuts.

left the GXP parked as there was a 2 foot snow drift behind it so i didnt even bother (i have stock potenzas) but my GF has a buick with some decent all seasons and she works right next to me so we rode together and we were the only car to make it out of the apartment parking lot without getting stuck lol there were 3 other cars that got stuck n00bs.

It's 20 here right now. Every few years it gets this cold, rarely with precipitation. They claim it might snow on Friday, which means small flakes turning into water as soon as it hits the ground.

cars don't feel wind chill -10* out at 55mph the car is takin in air that is -10*. to you the wind chill would be -46* because of your "radiation" being pulled from around your body. that's the first thing they tell you in A/C class.

http://science.howstuffworks.com/nat...question70.htm

says right there a thermometer doesn't read any less with wind chill.

If the air is still it would read -10* but since the air is moving it is removing heat from a surface faster. I'm not saying the IAT sensor would read -46* but it would read cooler than if the vehicle was stationary and at idle.

Ok, well, it's now below 20* in Austin, and was bouncing into the 0-5* range with windchill last night and is supposed to again tonight. My car almost refused to run this morning, I don't think it knew what "cold" was!

Its currently 5 degrees here... better than the last few days and nights which have dipped into the negatives.

Tonight is supposed to get to -16... pretty sure thats without wind chill.

A friend of mine just moved there a few months ago. He tends to provide me with weather updates here and there.

You guys have the weirdest weather ever. Wasn't it 70°F this past Saturday?

If it snows here again, I've got nowhere to put it. This was from the 1st big one just before New Year's.

The Buick stays in the garage in the snow and slop and I drive the wife's '04 Highlander. That little truck can just about go through anything.

Midland had a little snow today....14" at least! That's according to the weatherman.

Mind you this is AFTER I move the car.

It was so white out, my camera was having epileptic seizures!

I would have to say Cali and Florida are the place to be in the winter

Yeah it was really nice before the week started. Literally, windows down weather to negative temperatures.

I'm used to the weather because Ive lived here for years... but anyone unfamiliar with the changes usually tends to be more upset about it lol.

I took yesterday off and hid. We had another 14 dumped on us all said and done. The snow banks at the end of my drive way are twice as tall as my Monte. This is unacceptable.
