Default Few questions/concerns with the GXP

first thing is that the battery has died 3 times within the 5 months that i have owned it....i also get a whole bunch of warning lights such as service traction control, service abs, charging system failure, and stability control failure. (i think the reason i got those warning lights were because of the battery being dead)

other issue is when i pump gas the gas comes up the tube(?) and stops the pump and i have to wait till it chugs it into the gas tank before i can start pumping again...this happens every single time i fill up..it dosent matter if the pump is in all the way or hanging out a little or even if im barely squeezing the trigger it always fills up...it gets really annoying when its freezing cold outside.

and now the check engine light is on

(side note i just had the car in the shop to fix all these problems they gave me a new battery and replaced my fuel solinoid? the warning lights are gone but the gas problem is still there. except the engine light thats a new one)

so im taking it back to the dealer when i get out of work..... i was wondering if anyone knows as to what can be causing all these issues. the car was gm certified when i purchased it but i think i bought a lemon im honestly thinking about trading her in

There's a valve in the gas tank filler tube that opens to allow gas to flow into the tank, and it closes to stop gas fumes from escaping when the car is driven. Evidently your isn't opening all the way so it needs to be replaced. That's probably the reason for the check engine light since the evap system isn't working properly.

could that cause this? it always leakes out black underneath it and where you put your finger in to lift it open. (i just got a car wash so its kinda hard to see it) i cleaned out the inside of it which was pitch black awhile ago but it still happens

Yes the malfunctioning valve in the gas tank filler tube will cause that. It must be stuck in the slightly open position, which is why it's difficult to put gas in the tank and it's leaking that black residue out the filler tube.
