Shift Lever
One thing for some absolutely absurd reason that has always bothered me about the Monte is the shift lever/handle. Has anyone tried to install an aftermarket set up from a company like Hurst, B&M or what have you? I know the stocker has the brake shift interlock and all that tomfoolery, I just want that damn handle to be different.

yeah that fake chrome plastic drives me insane ... and it feels like i could rip the whole plastic center console out with my teeth ...
i hate the center glove box lid ... im a large man, height and weight ... and think my continued use of it as an arm rest is going to destroy it ... but then again my arms are so long that have my elbow and forearm on the armrest and hold the shifter as a static hold point

I totally agree. The should have wrapped the shifter in leather. I looked into a company that will do it and stand by their work. http://www.craftcustoms.com/ They said it would be about $100 plus shipping. I am planning in the future to have this done once my funds get rechared from my transmission rebuild by TEP and trans cooler which will be done in a week and a half.

Leather wrapped wouldnt be too bad, I just feel its way way too bulky currently. Would be great to just bolt in a nice hurst setup, chrome stick and white shift ball. Done and done.
