The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
The V is in an entirely different league (OK, granted -- priced accordingly) but it does everything well that the GXP couldn't, except haul all three of my kids at the same time. Other than limited rear visibility while backing (at least it has a back-up camera for the wife), a useless (i.e. non sliding) sunroof and no real soundtrack worthy of an LSA (especially from within the car), this car is worth every penny. The ride is outstanding thanks to the magnetic shocks, the driveline is tight with a delightful clutch and stick, steering is precise and the motor is to die for.
I purchased what was one of the Cadillac factory display cars from the local auto show (the other being an auto sedan offered by the same dealer), so they had extra room on the price. I didn't get my color choice, and I lost about 3 months of in-service time, but the car was sold new with an MSO, had only 60 miles, came with the Recaros (I like 'em!) and I saved almost 8k off list -- and that was the cash price before we negotiated for the two trades, which were strong numbers in their own right.
Mortgage the house if necessary -- these cars, especially with a stick, are awesome, although the wagon would have been my preference. Let somebody else be impressed that they own the most powerful factory Pontiac ever once you unload your GXP to them. Other than being LS powered, there's not much in common.

lol. But yeah, it's nowhere near the best car.
