My QTP exhaust cut-out....
Installed this about a weekend or two ago..I didnt want to spend 180+ on an electric one, and then have to screw around with the wiring(i can do mechanical stuff, not too good with wiring and whatnot though lol)..So i bought this for around 50 bucks... http://www.summitracing.com/parts/QTP-10250/?rtype=10 ordered it at like 9pm and somehow got it then next morning, so summit is awesome for that. After doing a little bit of research i saw that the QTP electrics actually stop opening and closing after a while..and even saw an a few claims that they have a preset amounts of times they will open and close(not exactly sure i believe it but whatever)..Not to mention i only really plan on having mine open on cruise nights(wed nights and sometimes thurs), so having the option to open or close it whenever wasnt a big deal for me. My SLP loudmouth is pretty loud..but not loud enough lol.
I installed mine about halfway back, where the exhaust pipe goes out towards the front of the right rear tire, before splitting into the mufflers. At this location its very easy to get to to undo the bolts, with no jack or anything required. I just lay down an old cloth i have and use a wrench. To make removal and installation of the bolts easier and quick, i tacked the nuts onto the cut out itself. total installation time was about an hour maybe an hour and a half..had to butt weld it together to the rest of my exhaust, a few places had to do big welds cause of an uneven cut on the exhaust..

Looks good OP!
Not really. Its cheaper than changing you exhaust setup just cause someone wants it louder. IMO
x2. I love my DMH, no issues and I open and close it ALL the time!! DMH also gives a 4yr warranty which QTP doesn't.
