Mixing brake pads?? (Ceramics front, semi-metallic backs)
So my fronts I did about 8 months ago with Duralast C-max ceramic pads and couldn't be happier with them. Now it's time to do the rears so I look at Autozone and of course for some reason they don't have C-max pads for the rears listed. Called and confirmed as well. They have the Duralast Gold pads though but they are semi-metallic.
So my question is, would it be fine to use semi-metallics on the rears with the ceramics on the front? Or should I go find some wagner ceramics from Advance? (they are like 76 bucks for the rears as opposed to the semi-met going for 34 dollars.)
I'm also getting new rotors for the rears as well, and usually have had good luck with Autozone rotors and they are 76 bucks a piece, but I saw that Advance has there "wearever" rotors for 52 dollars... Anyone have any experience with those?
Thoughts?

Im not sure if this well answer your question. I had went with the wearever semi metallics on my fronts and they have worked good and lasted a long time. However there is a big down side. After a few thousand i got a horrible brake noise...... Basically what happens is the brake matterial comes off as you use them and fills in the holes of the drilled rotors, sometimes leaving metallic fibers on the outside.. When you brake you have loose metallic fibers vibrating causing noise.. So now every seems like 1000 miles i need to power wash my rotors...

Funny you should ask this as I JUST did my brake pads. I bought ceramic fronts and just got semi for the rear. I can't see why it would matter at all anyway.
My reasoning was I wanted good stuff for the front, but didn't want to bother putting extra money into the rears that only do a third of the braking. Also, anything was a world improvement over shot pads.
