LOL, yeah they are, after I had one as a rental I looked it up. Never noticed when you do the passing glance but when you get them side by side or look at the specs, there are definitely a few added on inches!

GXP has more maintance cost in tires, struts/shocks, and brakes.

All in how you drive it. And even so, 100% worth it IMO. I don't want to slander our fellow LS4 brethren, but let's be honest, the GXP has better suspension, better brakes, HUD, Tapshift, and a lot more details that set it apart from their "normal" GP cousins. All in all, it comes down to preference but I wouldn't trade my GXP for anything

This is not because I have the MC but I'm very neutral on this I say it doesn't matter! But one thing if you made me contrast I would say that the GXP does have the cool TAP shift. I dunno dude just get a MC and cancel out both of them! LoL!!

I would say pass on any LS4 car. I hit 36,000 miles this week and I am on my 3rd set of front tires, 3rd front set of brakes, and my third battery. Don't waste your time or $.

May have to do with driving habits... ~64k miles, 2nd set of front pads, original in back, 2nd Battery (Optima), 4th set of tires, but I drive it VERY hard, also depends which tires you get. Second trans, but that's a known issue. Everything else is original.

Wow that sucks. I'm at 95k miles and on my second(and a half-rims i bought had tires) set of tires, ORIGINAL pads and rotors. I used to drive the **** out of my car(hence the blown trans at 55k), but don't anymore. Oh and I have about 60 track passes on the car too.

Default Depends on your driving style.

Setting aside style and if we are talking stock vs. stock then.. If you drive hard, then no question GXP... If you drive sane - Impala SS... Or do what I did and get a SS on the cheap and mod the crap out of it!

Gxp is much sportier. Better brakes, suspension and wider tires upfront. So it will handle better. Plus hud and tapshift. However, i would not get an ls4 if you want to mod it at all. They are a complete waste of money. However if you want to just have a good highway cruiser that is pretty quick then its not bad. And highway gas milage is pretty good.

I like the Impala SS but i would get the GXP,looks more sportier you can get away with riding the stock rims on the GXP for a long time im currently looking for a 06-07 Monte Carlo SS but if i can find a GXP for a great price i'll sell my GTP Comp G asap

I traded my GP Comp G for a G8 GT and I couldn't be happier. I highly recommend you do the same.

Hear is my 2 pennies. I have drove a Impala SS and own a GXP. Not going into looks yet but the overall feel of the GXP if you are a 'Spirited' driver is the way to go. Everything they did does work. Suspension breaks tire combo etc. Tap shift is fun and functional. Nice to hold a gearl before going into a corner and not having to reach to manually shift or waiting for a downshift. Just wish it would rev match on downshifts haha. Interior, I guess i got jipped mine has neither NAV or 6 disc, WTH. I love the interior because it is more driver focusd. HUD - 2nd car with it, love it. IM 6 2 and fit great. THis is my fourth grandprix, 3rd this body style, first v8. My trans acted goofy a few times dropped pan all good.

My vote is GXP!

RedHOTG8 you crack me up. I would get one if I could afford it but want to buy another house next year.

TBSS - I had a regular trailblazer but i can only assume this would be the same, the driver seat did not go back far enough for my legs and I always felt cramped. Traded and got a GXP. It was the only time I had a halfway smart trade, different story.

Maintenance. Im on my 2nd set of fronts, first set of rears. NO brakes yet. I drive hard.
