Another Tranny thread!
My tranny really does not like the new found HP due to my latest mods... What is Dave's number and how long of a turn around is it for parts? I have a mod list that goes like this....
PATC 3200 Stall Torque Converter (stock is 2000 to 2200)- 399.00
ZZPerformance Input Shaft - 359.95
TEP Clutch Master/Volvo Rebuild Kit - 179.95
TEP Recond. Input Clutch Piston - 19.95
TEP Input to Sun Gear Bearing - 6.95
TEP 4t65e Lube Dam - 3.95
TEP OE Stator Support / Drive Sprocket Bearing - 7.95
TEP Transgo 4t65e Shift Kit(set on medium firmness) - 59.95
Intense 3.29 - 15/16th’s Gear Ratio Conversion Kit(stock is 2.93’s) - 450.00
Intense 34 tooth vss reluctor wheel
right now it sits at a little over $1400 in parts. I have been saving for this day for a while.
These are the tranny mods that I plan on ordering. Future mods to this car will be a cam and intake and maybe some N20 if i keep it that long. I was considering 3.69's (still up in the air) but I don't know if I will keep it that long to cam it to get the full use of the 3.69's with the cam. I was looking at a 228r cam from Texas Speed or something in that range. Is there anything I am overlooking that I need to add in order for this tranny to never break again? Please chime in!

Dave is super busy but well worth the wait. I live 15 minutes from him/his shop and even I have to wait for stuff most of the time, but like I said, definately definately worth the wait. His quality is top notch, and he stands behind his work 110%.

that is the plan at least. Trying to work our a deal with the dealership (i am friends with a service advisor) to pay for the labor if I pay for the parts. My car still has a warranty and I do not want to pay for another transmission that is going to fail again eventually. Plus, I plan on doing a few more mods that will need stronger parts to handle all the stress I will be putting on them.
