Default Ebay LS6/LS4 manifold conversion kit...wtf

Don't know if this is someone on here or not, but someone is selling their LS6 intake manifold "project" that they are converting to fit on an LS4. Looks like they got epoxy drunk....really epoxy drunk.

It's not the prettiest example. Maybe if it was smoothed and painted.

I wonder how well the epoxy will hold up. With some sanding and painting it might turn out pretty good. Cheap thrills if gotten for 200.00

Default TPIS Intake

I know it looks like S*%t, but I'm not the one who came up with the idea. TPIS has been cutting the noses off LS6 intakes and putting 90mm flanges in their place for years. Just so happens they are way better at it then I am. I really wanted to finish it, but just lost motivation. I think it's a cool prototype though. If TPIS can do 90mm conversions, why couldn't they do LS4 flange conversions as well? Anybody know someone there? See attached pic for their ad.

The epoxy they use is very expensive and the process is called plastic weld. Tpis also use screws and clamps to attach the inlet.

Default Manifold sold.

Yup ryanisl33t, it was mine. Some fellow in PR bought and paid for it. I hope he read the listing thoroughly. That Manley epoxy cures like ceramic, and is supposed to hold even on exhaust manifolds. Real good stuff. The further along I got with the project, the more I started looking at it as a mock up piece instead of something I would actually bolt to my engine. I guess there just isn't enough demand for a company to build us a manifold at a reasonable price. I asked around last year and no one had much interest.

Please tell me the neck was cut off before the crushed spot on the LS4...otherwise there's no reason to do a manifold swap.

Default Yes

Of course. There was just the LS4 flange and a little material behind it at the bottom so it could be angled up.

i dont see why you guys thinks its that bad. Sand down the epoxy and paint and would look fine , then you would have to re-wire for another TB, would save money also.

I like the idea but I don’t trust the epoxy.
I really like the TPIS 90mm conversion. I wonder if they could do a 90mm on a LS4 intake?
