Default brake/ traction/ stability /abs lights

ok just serviced the car and as driving it home all the lights come on. scan it and it shows code C0161. also the brakes lights are not working most the time but will stay on sometimes without applying brake pedal. what ya guys think is it the brake switch? i did spray the battery down with some cleaner it is still original, possibly the battery giving up and causing low voltage?

Do you have low voltage? Check in your DIC. When you say serviced who serviced it and what was done? Sounds like a problem with a wheel speed sensor. Possible the wire coming from the sensor got pinched by something.

i service it. changed the oil and filter. topped off the fluids. i know its crazy common to have wheel speed sensor problems but i think my issue is on the other side of the brake system. turn signals and hazzards both work. but as of right now i have no brake lights. on the scanner it showed the switch was activated when not on the brake so im thinking maybe the brake switch? i wonder how big of a pain that is to replace?

I dunno how hard it is. Never had that issue. I guess that does make more sense as far as the tailights staying on. Crazy set of issues.

might be onto something here. anyone know what all the sensor wraped around the ground wire at the battery does? it seams to be dealing with that if i unhook it and start the car no warnings and brake lights work but if i hook/ unhook while running it still has issues. im going for a test drive with it unhooked.

well got the new red top in and first start all warning lights came on, i then replaced the front brake pads and rotors with the kit i got off BRAKEMOTIVE and changed the trans filter. while under the car i found a broken wire look on the passenger side goes over the halfshaft and under the motor. got a new wire loom to cover it and when i was done with everything the warning lights have yet to come on, so maybe the system needed to sit some with the new battery?

Im thinking Number 5 is the Amp meter. Our Alternators are the new fancy on demand style. So they battery isnt just measure for voltage but for amp draw on the batter to better determine the out needed in the alternator

As for the the rest of your problemss.... Open up drivers side door. Remove panel covering side of the dash. Remove the panel under the drivers side dash.. Located BCM ( body control module....aka computer) Unplug the computer for a couple minutes and then plug it back in.

After washing my engine off with the hose I let it dry for 24 hours when I got in Traction\ABS\Stability control lights came on. . no Brake lights. I read this post and found if I unplugged the battery current sensor everything worked fine. Got codes suggesting brake position sensor - replaced it there is only 1 screw on it. I cleaned the MAS replaced a hub, checked wiring harness then took it to the dealer. They suggested the brake position sensor, Then the BCM it was 750+ got in after repair and lights still on. They claimed they steamed the engine after it was replaced then found the battery current sensor had a hole. I called another dealer the part was 18$ they replaced the Negative wires and terminal with the battery current sensor then the remote start didnt work and was not an option on the DIC they replaced again. Everything is working now but then the tensioner broke the part was 230$ I did it myself with the help of this site.... installed the belt with 2 hose clamps. My 08 GXP has 50000 mile on it this week.

Exclamation

well back to having issues, this time she was driving and the car had a charging system warning and shut down all the non important things like the radio and hvac. so we replaced the alternator but are still only getting 13.5v and found the cod pB1516 Battery current sensor performance and the code would clear for 1min 30 sec while running and would pop back on, during this time the charging volts would jump up into the high 14+Volt range. after looking at the battery current sensor i found it had a hole and am sure that's why it would act up after i had washed under the hood. so looking into the sensor and code found this TSB stating

{Currently there is an incorrect supersession in the Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC). The superseded
part is not compatible with a 10 volt reference voltage.
The superseded part that is not correct is part number 13505369.
The correct part number to be used on this vehicle is 10306471.
If this is your scenario please install battery current sensor part number 10306471.}

new plan of attack is getting a new sensor and going from there.
