Looks like there's a onstar fuse 10amp in the underhood fuse powering the whole system. Possibly just have to pull the fuse and wait for the battery backup to drain or theres a 2 wire connector for the battery backup on the vcim that could be disconnected.
My service book is good for 07 impala/monte only.

You may be able to test this if you have service and you pull the fuse then call onstar and get them to unlock your doors. If they doors unlock then its not dead.
I would think pulling the fuse would be too easy for theives and I read somewhere that it doesn't disable the communication, just the abillity to talk to the advisor.

I watched American Underworld the other day and they stole a chevy truck in like under a minute by changing the computer. I don't think gm thinks about security when designing things.

If they change their terms again, you should still be wary...
Something I'd like to mention just through my advertising education and background is this: a company will often say they "will not sell your information" in the terms of an agreement. However, they can give the information away for free completely legally.

I called OnStar last week to terminate my service (no sense in paying $20 / month) and the service rep asked me why.
I told her that I was displeased with their change in their Terms of Service and that they would be collecting and selling my vehicle information without my consent.
She said that OnStar categorically denies any such practice and that their Terms of Service doesn't mention anything of the sort and she wanted to know where I heard that rumor?
I responded that I "heard that rumor" by reading OnStar's web site and suggested that maybe their web site had been hacked which is all the more reason for me to discontinue paying for the service.
She protested at which point I said, "look, when I get off the phone, I'm going to rip the OnStar module out of my car and take my 9 pound sledge to it and that I promise to dispute every charge that OnStar tries to apply to my account. It's up to you if you want to do it the easy way or the hard way."
FYI, it's unplugged, but still in one piece at the moment..
