Default Tail light went out after installing new headlight bulb!

Hey guys,

I just got back from a long drive after having to switch my bulbs to brighter ones. You may all know that the ones that come with the halo projectors are pathetic. So I stopped at a gas station only to see that one of my tail lights are out ...The brake lights are okay but the one on the outer end is out. Does this have anything to do with changing the head light bulb??? Maybe the different wattage plays a role or something?

They're on separate relays and fuses, completely frustrating coincidence lol.

Thanks for pointing it out. What a coincidence indeed. Does anyone know how I should go on replacing the bulb?

Open trunk, theres a plastic peice.of.molding.that goes from one tail light.to the other across the trunk opening pull that off its just push clips. Pull back carpet covering back of light housing. There's three wing nuts you.remove by hand. Pull housing out. The bulb number is L194. It's incredibley simple good luck. Any other questions feel free to pm me or post back ill check up to make sure you made out ok.

Turns out it was a problem with the wiring. The CCFLs from the headlights were drawing too much power, that in combination with the 55w bulbs I put in. So I went ahead and disconnected the CCFLs and the tail lights are working like a charm now. Time to get rid of these pathetic headlights.
