Default Water pump location

I just wanted to be sure. I am experiencing a coolant leak in this general area.

Is the red line pointing to the water pump? Thanks for the patience...

Yes that is the water pump, there is a weap hole in the bottom of it. More than likely that is where the leak is coming from.

Sweet. So, should I just replace it? I have the car torn apart right now. I figured I would replace the serpentine belt and the water pump. I can't actually see where the leak is coming from, it just looked to be coming from behind that pulley.

Yes replace it and please dont buy duracrap like me. I had to replace it 3 times so I went with one from NAPA autoparts and no more issues.

It's looking like the AC Delco version is for me then. Anything else I should do while it's torn apart?

Thank you Impala06SS, Smokin06ImpalaSS and rm08GXP...

Got the pump out and could see where the impeller blades contacted the aluminum. That hose clamp on the tensioner WORKS GREAT! I think that it was just the gasket that was causing it to leak, but I'm going to go ahead and get the AC Delco pump that was recommended.

+1 I had to do this on my GXP once as well. It sucks but when it's all over the peace of mind is worth it!
