i really like my 05 GTP Comp G,but i kinda want a 05-08 GXP now,i was gonna mod my 3800 supercharged engine to make it crazy fast but i think i would rather upgrade to the GXP model,i was leaning toward a 06-07 SS Monte but i already have the WS6,So the GXP would be great with replacing the GTP i wanted to know did all GXPs come standard with a sunroof, because a sunroof is a must have option for me i heard the trans are weak in the LS4 cars is there a 6speed auto available aftermarket for the LS4 cars?

They are good cars other than the trans problems. I would recommend a trans cooler if you do get one. No 6 speed swaps available yet but I know they have been working on one for a while now.

Coming from a guy that sold his 04' comp g for a 06' GXP I would never go back. The trans are weak but you should already know that as its pretty much the same trans in your car now. The GXP has more poer so it makes it worse. As for a sunroof almost all come with one out of all the GXP members here I think only one doesnt have one. Have you test drove one yet?

SOOO many more mods available for the L67 cars, it's not even funny. If you want to go fast more easily (and cheaply), stick with the 3800 S/C.
As mentioned above, trans is the weak point. If you buy a GXP, better to budget $3000 for a trans right off the top, because it's likely you'll need one well before you hit 100k miles.

I came from a 99 Park Ave Ultra (L67) to a GP GXP
No. Comparison. At. All. motor-wise. If all you want is a quick & fun DD the GXP is where it's at.
If you further modded the GTP you would run into the SAME trans problems the LS4 cars have as it is the SAME transmission. So on top of the mods for the GTP you now need an additional 1750 or more for a TEP transmission.
Most LSx parts will swap to the LS4. Once you're past the basic H/C/I stuff you gotta dig into the motor but the power potential is indeed there. just don't expect it to come as easily as it did on the GTP since no one makes any parts for it specifically.

Depends what you want to do. If you enjoy modding, stick with the comp g. If you want a car that is fast and has little modding available, but also doesn't need modding, get the GXP. I moved from a 04 comp G to an 08 GXP and am very happy I did.

I went from an 01 GTP to an 08 GXP, the GXP is just a better car overall, it handles better, sounds way better, looks better IMO. I would never go back, I loved the 3800 but the V8 exhaust and just overall drivability is better in the GXP.
