Default For MC SS Drivers. No need to delete DOD

Why all this talk of removing it when if you just put the car in [3] instead of Drive it stays in 8 cyl mode all the time... I never saw anybody mention it and I figured it out after owning the car 2 days...

well it took you 2 days to figure out you can turn of DOD by putting the lil shifter nobby lever thingy next to the little 3

and now it will take you 2 posts to learn that our transmissions have 4 speeds and by putting it in 3 it wont shift into 4 / O/D

Its actually been mentioned about 1000 times. Most of us just don't feel the need to start a thread about it.

Too funny. I bought my wife an 09 ImpalaSS and I am not even sure it has cylinder deactivation. But the crazy woman can tear into a 14.3@96 and the car is bone stock.

They all have it(unless tuned out), and everyone pretty much did the same time stock if not a little faster.

Haha you guys are mean.

But seriously, OP: The DoD hardware itself is crappy so a hardware delete is much more beneficial.

Most people post complaining about DOD are just because it sounds stupid while cruising. Thats the majority of the posts I've seen. Now. If vroom vroom had any sense, he would realize the car isnt ALWAYS in 8cyl mode because it is in "drive".
Next... Model 16. If you had any ******* sense nobody needs 8cyl mode in 4th gear or OD... If you were going for top speed it wouldnt ******* matter what mode it went into cause once you floor it its in 8cyl mode regardless.
The whole point is for everybody who seems to whine about it cruising around town....

So that awkward moment when ya'll realize you have trouble logically thinking.... Happened now... Im not an idiot.

Edit: And no, don't bother with another typical smartass senior forum member response. I wont be back to see it. Peace

actually DOD has been linked to excess oil consumption and also possible trans failure.

I was going to refrain from posting until I saw this.

I love it when this ^^ type of newbie shows up on the site and acts like he's showing us how to make fire for the first time. He doesn't even have the sense to know that he doesn't know everything before opening his pie hole.

Don't let the door hit ya in the *** on the way out, ya stupid ****!

How about making water?
