brake fitment issues Well I was replacing my front brakes yesterday and I found an issue. Now the problem doesn't seem to bewith the parts at all. On the driver side of my gxp the caliper mount is coming into contact with the rotor on the top outside corner. I knew there was a problem that's part of the reason I was changing the brakes. But the problem was worse than I thought. I'll post up picture later.
The basics of the problem is there isn't enough room between the rotor and the caliper mount. So they rub on each other. I put a spacer between the mount and axle to give the rotor clearance. So its temporarily fixed at the moment. But I can't figure out what's causing the problem. I tried switching the caliper mounts side to side and that didn't fix the problem. And there was no fitment issues on the passenger side with either mount

I had thought the wear problem was from my old parts being warped or damaged in some other way causing the contact. But that wasnt the case.
Does anyone have an idea what could be out of adjustment to cause this problem and how to fix it to remove the spacer and put it back to normal?
First three photos were of old rotor. Next 5 are of the damage to the caliper mount. and the last two are of the new rotor before i added the spacer.

First picture is of the damage to the new rotor. the alignment clip was damaged and ripped the inner clip of of it partially causing the damage to the rotor.

I bought the car with 22k miles now has 71k miles. First time I have replaced the rotors. So its possible my old ones where factory. I replace the front pads and rotors with parts from brake motive. But this problem was there before I replaced the parts. Far as I know everything else is still factory parts on the suspension and axle on that side of the car. I have tryin to think of sometimes that could have broken or bent that would cause this misalignment in the brake system

Honestly the only thing that I can even think of is that something in the suspension has to be bent, and the only thing that could even tweak slightly to bring those two components together would be the actual knuckle itself, or if the hub wasn't seated correctly and was cocked in the knuckle. But even that wouldn't make sense cause you would have a host of other issues.

Yea its gota be something with the knuckle its warped or something. The part holding the caliper isnt in the correct posistion relative to the disc. Knuckles are cheap i would replace both sides plus you'll get those new knuckle bushing feel! I just replaced the knuckle bushing on my 97 cadillac worst thing i've ever done. Id rather rebuild a motor then mess with pressing those bushing in and out without proper tools!Someone could have really over torqued some bolts and after stuff heats up and cools down all sort of stuff happens. I would just replace both knuckles

If the surface where the wheel bearing is mounted in the knuckle is off slightly, that would account for the angle, but I think that would lead to some abnormal tire wear too. This is a real strange one.

Well the shop diag was loose hub. They r & r the hub under the extended power train warranty. So far so good. I'm gonna pull it apart when I get off work in the mornin to verify spacing of the rotor and caliper mount. Thanks everyone
