Default Whistler Mod on Impala?

Anybody do the whistler mod to their stock headlight housings? I did it on my Camaro and it was simple, but I'm not sure how these housings come apart, and I've never seen it on any of the cars on here.

Pics/assistance appreciated.
Thanks!

You need to heat the housings in an oven at like 20 degrees for a short time, then the glue softens enough to separate them.

Most people here simply buy the Depo lights with the black housings for $150. By the time you sell your stockers for $100 and factor in the cost of your time, you come out about even or ahead.

Thanks guys. I heard a lot of up's & down's about the depo lights though. Anybody got a link, and maybe some pics of them on their car? I really want to put projectors in one of these housings.

Its the **** that seals our housings , terrible stuff.

Buy the Depos , guys seem to like them , i personally cant comment on the output.

Thanks Sadden. I remember how easily my Camaro headlights came apart. One look at the Impala housings and I had a feeling it wouldn't be worth it lol.

What "downs" have you heard about the depo lights? The Depo's are just the plain black ones not the ones with projectors and LED's.

Best pic I have ATM.

Oh that's my mistake, its the projector & LED housings that I've heard negatives about. Do you have a link where you can get these Depo lights? Also, anybody know if you can open them up? I'd love to throw some projectors in there.

Thanks for the pic too man.

You can open them easily. 10 minutes in the oven should be more than enough. If your opening them up anyways i would look into a retrofit.

This is what I did to my Monte a while ago. Same headlight as the Impala.
