Default spark plug change

So after research I find that the mad wires offer lowest resistance besides granetellis. 008 compared to.58 per foot. Stocks measured in at almost .300 per foot! Since tr6 ngk weren't available I found out autolite xp103's offer the same heat range etc... and more readily available at part stores.
Reading through here noticed people seem to say stock GM plugs and wires were awesome well at 72000 miles mine looked like this and were giving me up to 4 degrees of knock on wot and part throttle! ! Come to find out checking the gaps on these factory plugs...ranged from. 023. To .64 I damn near couldn't believe my eyes. Factory Gxp owners should invest in plugs and wires before they do anything with the engine.

Odd....@120k, I bought plugs to change mine. Changed one and never got to the others. I got 168k on it now..still runs good though. Shame on me, my plugs are sitting on a desk in my garage.

I changed mine while doing my headers and at just under 56,000 miles they had quite a bit of buildup.

Yes, we do. The TR6s eliminate most of the KR that our cars are plagued with.

good to know.
i really should get some plugs and wires now since i have it down for the transmission install... but i hate doing to many things at once, makes it hard to troubleshoot if issues.

Tr6 is ONE heat range cooler.
If your more heavily modified or playing with the laughing gas then you naturally need to drop another heat range.

yeah i know with any boost, nitrous, or just higher cylinder pressure you need to go with a lower heat range. i just remember my lt1 didnt like the tr6s that much until it was warmed up.

so i'm guess you guys are putting in copper plugs? sure like the price of those compared to the Iridium.

Gotta remember all plugs aren't perfect. its a miracle we get 8 good ones at a time. From working at Autozone I've seen people drop plugs onto the floor and put them right back in the box. I would aways damage them out just in case. Lol but the so far I'm liking these autolite xp103 plugs mileage went up due to not having the spark knock I was getting and performance is way better.make sure u check your gaps!!

Can't compare an LT1 to an LS motor...They're COMPLETELY different animals. Even a stock LS4 will like the TR6s.

I run the TR6IX Iridiums in my Impala and we noticed improvements in idle quality and overall smoothness, not to mention reduced KR.
