Here is the start circuit. Test with your meter and a single blub test lamp (if you don`t have a 12v test lamp simply wire up a lamp and use it)
- in fig 2 you will have to hold the key in the start to complete/confirm that part of the circuit, check as much as you can.
- notice the current sensor as it is on the + not the - be sure it is secure and the tail is pointing to the pos terminal, also make sure the wires to it are good

Purple wire to the starter is good. Does the current sensor actually control anything?

Not a good answer, what about the other wires, wires from the switch to power up computers? Yellow ones having power at the ppl only says the start circuit partially works. When you turn the key other things happen to tell the computers to come to life.
The current sensor does play a big role, that little device carries a big stick. From under charging to over charging to shutting things down by 10% to completely shutting things down or even from ever starting up. It CONTROLS... electric power management. I believe I posted a link earlier.

Would the low tire pressure prevent anything?

Which connector? Can you tell if something specific happened to cause the corrosion?

Unfortunately I dunno, took it to the dealer. They said it had been corroded for a while. Probably on the verge of not working for a long time.
