Default Won't start

I'm finishing up my transmission swap and just got to the point where to start it up. Put the key and the display starts saying to service abs, brakes, stability... When I try to start nothing. So I figure it's related. Anyway I think I got everything hooked up, wheel sensors and the few transmissions sensors. Any ideas?

That's the big connector on the top correct? That seems good, I'm taking the starter to get tested to make sure it didn't get beat around

feels like a new car. i can really tell my rpms dropped when cruising around, so its got a lot less slip in it... before it felt like i was driving around with a huge stall.

old thread, guys I need some help. Just got done swapping a transmission in a 2007 Impala SS. Everything has power, car wont start. No clicks, nothing.

So far i have:
-battery voltage
-crossed terminals on the starter and it does spin
-checked all ground connections to see if they are attached (i counted 5 total, 1 above oil pan in front, 2 on a bellhousing bolt, 2 bolted to the transmission towards the drivers side)
-checked continuity of the s-wire (purple) going to the starter
-checked starter fuse and relay
-checked all the connections that i had disconnected

Any ideas or things I should look at?

Also, with the key in the on position, should the indicated gear show up? The car owner says no, but he hasn't driven the car in months.

YES!

recheck the transmission range switch and the VSS sensor also make sure the batt terminals are tight and the body ground at the batt, if you can turn them they are not tight.

Battery terminals are good, I'll double check the vss, but where is the range switch?

Just checked, vss is plugged in, and the main plug on top the trans is in. I noticed that unlike the OP, this car doesn't say whats gear its in at all, doesn't say its in park or anything.

I'm warming up to the fact that this is probably not the correct trans for the car. I wasn't involved with getting it so i have no clue. Looks identical but apparently these things vary electronically.

Got called away yesterday... Is there any tags on the transmission if so post the numbers and I can check.

Is it your original TCM? Did you remove it?

Yes the gearshift indicator should show it does in my 06 and in my neighbors 07.

It does have a tag, I'll check it when I get home. You think unplugging the Trans would force limp mode and allow it to start?

I did not mess with the TCM at all, same one that came with the car. Gonna check the tag now.

Pardon the tardiness... it is a chev trans built in 06, has the 2.93 gears as standard in the IMP.

Check all your fuses and double check that everything is tight in the fuse box.

Also a more likely secanrio is the manual shaft detent lever maybe your problem.

Go here: http://www.gmls4.com/index.php?topic=1412.0 and find G111 and with your meter test from the mount of G111 to the appropriate connector pins @ (trans internal mode K-bk/wh, starter relay bk/wh, TCM 49 bk/wh) If I remember correctly the starter relay is the same as the fuel pump relay, swap and verify them as functional.

I will post some info here in a bit (not near my scanner at the moment)

Thanks man, I really appreciate the help. Starter relay is the same as the rear defrost relay, I tried swapping it.
