I have a 2000 Pontiac GrandPrix GT, my goals are to hook up the car with a 5.3 engine n tranny conversion.. Has anyone on here done this and what tips or ideas do I need to know to make this happen? Is it worth the trouble or was it not much of a hassle to convert? I also need to know since my car is a 4 door, has anyone done any fender flares for the back fenders?..

If yall can help me out, I appreciate it so much n if yall have contact info for peeps that might have parts that I need for a conversion like this..

if you are not top swapped...do it. 3.8L SC is where all the aftermarket has been for these cars. the LS4 V8 is kind of a red headed stepchild but we do have some new products coming shortly to liven up the game a little bit.

there is absolutely no reason a well modified top swapped car could not see 12's/11's with transmission/traction.

you would be better off just buying a gxp or ss with the ls4 already in it. probably be cheaper

My suggestion would be just keep the gp how it is and buy a fbody.

Buy a ZZP turbo kit and forget the whole V8 swap.

The swap has been done before, though. The one I remember was done with an LS1 a few years ago (look up 'Tom K' over on clubgp.com, or do a search there). It was a ton of work and troubleshooting, as you would expect....but it does fit. Doing the LS4, like you're saying, should be easier....but still difficult.
