To me it would be like flaring.the ends of an exhaust system and saying it improves flow. There's still a major restriction. Go with an ls1 manifold swap. It can be done fairly cheap. And it gives you a nice bump from idle to redline not just peak hp. It's the best mod I have by far.
Have you done a LS4 port job? Have you had a LS4 intake on your car that was professional ported? If not your just surmising.
Or like older people like myself say until picked **** with the chickens you just dont know!!

I have a post from last November where my intake was ported....wasn't impressed. I would never post an opinion on something I didn't do myself.

I was told that the spring in the 09 truck TB was weak.

The trans... You ever play craps? As far as the motor, its all in the tune.

It's more wishful thinking than anything. I've already contacted Dave about the replacement.

Perhaps you misread....(I'm not sure why your taking that tone, I'm not misleading him or lying.)I had the intake professionally ported. It didnt produce enough gains to warrant a $200+ investment. And since the the original poster's question was "will it make a big difference on a all stock ls4?" The answer is no. It will not make a big difference. There's not an honest person on here that would tell you to just port the ls4 intake. It's the largest bottle neck on the car. And if you plan to make any power down the road its damn near a requirement to get that ungodly restrictive intake off there. So would you rather waste the money and port it then turn around and swap it down the road? Or save for the swap now. Like I said I mean no disrespect I'm just speaking from experience.

Anyways op. Ported ls4 manifolds are for the birds. Save your money and swap the intake, or you'll always be held back by the largest restriction in the engine.

It's basically a 2 barrel intake, and with a LS1/LS6 we have a 4bbl intake with a 2bbl carb. haha..

I wish we could call it a boat anchor. It's just to light!

The next time you use a straw... pinch it off while sucking. I bet you will notice a restriction!

Come on guys , can't we all just get along .

To the OP , LS1/LS6 swap will see MUCH bigger gains . I myself used to have a ported LS4 intake and thottle body from fasterproms . I did feel a difference in performance but the LS6 intake swap completely transformed my Impala.
