Default Check your brake fluid.

I just installed new frt/rr brakes and flushed my brake fluid with new Ac Delco dot3. The old stuff was real dark, and smelled like burnt brake fluid.
This car stops like's a dream, and the pedal feels great. What a difference!!

Most people never worry about their brake fluid, and I was one of them. The dealer did a strip test on my fluid and wanted to flush it since the fluid tested bad. They also wanted to do my brakes. $$$$'s!!

Brake fluid attracts moisture, and causes the wet fluid boiling point decreases. The contaminated fluid can also cause rust in the brake lines, and piston bores.

AcDelco Dot 3 is supposed to have additives that helps fight off moisture and corrosion. GM also use's special brake hose's that protect against moisture. I have put my brakes through the ringer and the fluid is over 6 years old, so mileage is irrelevant.

Please people.. get a strip test done and replace the fluid ASAP if it tests bad!

All it is is Glycol. Glycol likes water.
We use it in the oilfield to dry natural gas , as its reusable.

I wouldn't even bother with the strip test. Just go straight ahead and change the fluid.

Always makes a world of difference after a few years. Our Envoy was night and day different when I had that flushed with the new tires a few months ago.

GXP's fluid will be done whenever I get around to replacing the rear pads/rotors in the near future. I'm sure it is original fluid. At 101k, it looks like black ink.

I flush mine so often for track days, I hardly go any time between flushes. If it's dark, change it!

I bought a tool last year ( I forget the name now) but it makes it easy to flush the fluid, I did it on my family's car and Im waiting for the spring to do it to the gxp once its out of storage. Made a difference!

I used a pneumatic Bleeder. Took about 5 mins per side. Basically it just sucks the old fluid out.

My bleeder is a younger sibling brand.
I think you can get them at K-Mart now
