Yes I own a ls4 GXP.. BUUUUUT I needed to make this quick post to see what anyone knows about the 2004 3.8l GT

I'm lookin at cars for my old lady and found one with 100k miles..

He's asking 5200.. I went ahead and threw him a offer a little over the dearlers trade in value hahaha.. I told him 4000 cash tomorrow. .

Anyways are the trannys bad in these too? Any problen areas with 100k miles.

Anyones opion would help.. I'm in a hurry to get her something before valentines day and literally know NOTHING about the v6 sc models besides that its not a GXP

Trans are still going to be weak, but if left in modded I think you should be fine with it just being a DD. I DD an 05 3.4 monte(not quite the same) and I just hit 150k had it since 34k and have only done rotors/pads a thermosat and a wheel bearing aside from the normal maintenance.

Trans shoudnt be an issue in this car if unbeaten / un modded, and properly serviced.

The SC puts out 260hp stock and our trans can handle 280hp so as everyone else said, unmodded you should be fine.

I think he said that because in your post you said you knew nothing about the v6 sc. But a 2004 gt should only be an n/a 3.8. A 2006+ gt is supercharged however.

In my opinion the N/A 3.8 and 4t65-e is good to go.....For what it's worth, I beat the ever loving **** out of my 01 Monte Carlo SS.. I mean I abused the hell out of that car and it took it, unlike this newer improved piece of **** I have now. My mom had an 01 Impala LT that made it to just under 200,000 miles..Powertrain was good, rest of the car started to fall apart though (go figure), lol.
