Default Rack and pinion issues

Well last week took the SS for a spin after being parked for almost two months . On the way back home I felt the steering wheel get hard . My guess at that time was the damn steering pump but after looking under the car saw fluid coming out of the rack a pinion . Anyone else have any issues with the rack and pinion. How hard is it to change ? Thanks

Just had mine changed with 59k miles on the clock. It wasn't leaking a whole lot but still leaked. After replacing it it turns A LOT smoother now. It's almost effortless to turn it now compared to before.
