Trans fluid level too high
I've been checking my fluid a lot lately and its always looked like it was on the low side of the hatched area. I've also had really high temps, even with a cooler and have had the odd slip from a stop light which seemed like a low fluid problem. I finally decided to add a little fluid. I added around a quarter of a litre (~230 ml), so not very much. Well today I finished putting my CAI in so I went for a drive to get the fluid warm so I could re-check it. I was getting on it a lot to test the intake.
After re-checking it shows that it's above the MAX line! I didn't even add half a quart so I don't know how this could be. Is there a tranny drain plug underneith the car, similar to an oil drain plug, that I can open just to let a little fluid out?

If your transmission is slipping from a stop light its a seal thats leaking and bleeding pressure off , The INput Clutch piston wears down and dosnt seal right anymore causing pressure loss at idle.

How much time needs to elapse for this to happen though? I've waited for 2 seconds at a stop and its done it, and I've waited minutes at a stop and it hasn't. Seems to happen randomly.

its going to be random , it will happen when pressure is at its lowest , If it ever happens again just mash the g as and if you get a jerk into 1st gear its the pressure over coming the loss of pressure.
My transmission has been doing this for 10 thousdand miles now. If you use the shifter and put it into 1st it will raise the Line pressure and will prevent the slipping. But becarefull if you use this to race let the transmission protection shift you into 2nd because if you use the shifter to put you into 2nd the pressure drops and u get massive slip on first gear regardless if your input clutch has problems or not.

So it's best to leave er in auto for the 1-2 shift if i'm racing a buddy or something? I didn't know that but it does seem like in manual that 1-2 shift does take longer than 2-3 now that you mention it...
I just ordered a tune from Lew... Does he fix it up so that the manual works better from 1-2? It's cool to show people the tac light and just cooler using manual in general lol
