Default LS2 TB vs LS4

Hello everybody, I am getting all the pieces together for a LS1 manifold swap. I originally planned on doing a LS1 manifold paired to an LS2 TB because its a bigger TB, so more air more power. My question is if the manifold is only 78mm and the TB is 90mm then would there be much gain if you cannot use the whole 90mm? Would it be fine to keep the LS4 tb because of the 3 to 4 bolt adapter? Thanks for any advice!

I went with the ls2 tb for a simple reason. Future modding would benefit the most from it and the lack of 3-4 bolt tb adapters. I got a ready made tb adapter from Alpert motorsports for 50bucks o ringed and machined from aluminum. So for me it was cheaper than having to fab one or trying to get someone to make one for me.

I don't think the throttle body will make a difference since the intake is so small so I wouldn't bother.
Also, if you have everything in your sig, that car is not a sleeper. That thing has to be loud as ****.

I don't necessarily want to keep DOD but i don't want to pull my heads to swap lifters if and when i do an intake swap because if i yank the heads...well i might as well cam it and port stuff while i am there...

I'm sure that's the reason most people don't go LS2. it requires a little bit more work to the snout or use of a different tray and complete OPSU relocation. with use of the specific non-DOD tray you should swap out the DOD lifters too...

FYI 90mm LS6 is in the classified for $500 bucks right now if you want the ultimate intake short of a custom modified FAST.
