Default shift points

What is everyone shift point set too,? I have an 06 gxp stock Trans ratio and wheels on Diablo tune. Im thinking it's not revving as far as it could, my 2 to 3 shift seems to be@ 90 around maybe 5200 and the 3-4 shift @ ~130 seems to be around maybe 5k.. I'm going to do a log soon to confirm but by watching gauges that's right about what I'm getting. Any input appreciated on that!

What is the ls4 capable of revving to on stock parts?

Get a custom tune to move the shift points up. It can go a lot higher then that.

I wouldn't touch over 6k on a consistent basis on dod valvetrain you're asking for a collapsed lifter

I got a custom tune, nice try though. Lewis eaton @ diablosport.

I want all gears to rev to ~5800. Does that seem about right? Mainly my 3rd was noticeably short, didn't seem to get to even 5k that's what got me focusing on my shift points

ok I'll be sure to not go higher than 6k.
I don't rev it out very often just a few time a month maybe.

About what mph would 6k be 100 for second
143ish in third?
Because he says it has to hit rpm and mph before shifting but don't want it to hit limiter between shifts

I am running a manual and shift at 6850 to 7k. My cam peaks HP at about 6600-6800 and I still have DOD lifters... they are on borrowed time...

About 5K miles on the swap since completed. Just got back from LS Fest where in 3 days I did twelve 1/4 mile passes (about 8 were 1st - 4th gear runs, the rest were 2nd-4th gear), ten autocross laps using 1st-2nd gear, and eight 3S passes using 1st and second.

Then there was all the road tuning dialing in everything, the dyno runs and showing friends the power... it has probably has seen 6800+ RPM over 150 - 200 times since the swap was completed and the engine had 18K on it before the swap.

While I still have the DoD system installed, it has never activated with the new camshaft. From what I have heard, most of the lifter failures are from wear when DoD is in use, vs. the lifters keeping the pin locked.

as I mentioned in the emails yesterday James, you can modify the TCM tune if you want, and play around with the shift points, see what you like... I already have them +200 rpm higher, but you can try more if you want...

tcm/tranny settings are really a matter of personal preference.... I do some basic tweaks, but everyone likes something different... some like more pressure/firmness, others don't... some like higher shift points, some like stock... etc etc... so yeah, you can modify the tcm tune and play around with the shift points and see how you like it....
