Default Catch Cans??? WHY???

I am just wondering why it seems that almost everyone who has done a intake swap on here is using catch cans so i am in the process of the intake swap what is the benifet of them? Dumb question probley but i really would like to understand thanks guys??????????????????????????????:confu sed:

Short answer is it helps keep oil out of the intake...

I need to check mine to see how much oil it has collected in the last 5K miles.

Lol I kno I need to check mine as well. I tried experimenting with the air oil separator but that filter element they use is to restrictive

Mine collects a shot glass worth of oil every 1000 miles. Adding the catch can eliminated the smoke problem I was having, so it was well worth the small effort that it takes to install.

Take your throttle body off and wipe you finger inside the intake snout - it'll be self explanatory... Catch can keeps intake from getting filthy.

How's the swap coming?

And it's coming dropped my vlom off at the machine shop today to be modified should get it back tomorrow and if I get those pig tails I can test out the ls1 tb hopefully it will work and I ordered new runner gaskets and they only sent me 7 wtf other than that if I get everything by monday and don't get busy at work it will get done ill post pictures of the ls1 tb and spaceer setup as soon as I confirm it working

If you have HP tuner where you can readily modify your tune then go for the tb swap otherwise you night have some issues for plug and play. Also giving that the tb opens up in reverse of the ls1/6 tb so you might go into reduced power mode. Ibwould be working on an adapter if I were you just in case.
