Default checking transmission fluid

how do you all check it? i know the manual says to let it sit if you drove it for awhile, then start it let it warm up to operating temp, then put it in drive, reverse, then check it.

i do that and i'm fine on fluid, i had a cooler line leak so i'd bet i have to be a little low...

probably a dumb question, but i've owned mostly manuals lol

Drive it around the block a few times, let your car get to operating temperature, then keep the engine on when you check it. No need to let it sit. That's how I do mine. If it makes you feel any better, I have no clue on the standards as I've owned automatics.
