What 08 model? If its a tapshift LS4 trans, then nothing. If its non tapshift, your better off finding the right interchange trans.

I'm pretty sure there's a difference in the electronics of an 06 trans versus the 08.

The internal wiring of the transmission is the exact for all Pontiac 4T65E-HD`s but... the external harness on some models (07 but don`t hold me to it) had a wiring problem. It had to do with the Temp sensor and the neutral saftie switch. The 08 harness corrected the problem so if you can get the harness with the transmission you will be golden! ( same connectors for all versions, just better assembly for the 08)

Yes, as I said the connectors are all the same at/on/in the trans. The harness is different inside for the 07+ due to a different ECM

both 05-06 and 07-08 use T42 trans controllers and have the exact same connector ends with matching circut numbers and descriptions according to the FSM. while the ECM did change from E40 to E67 the TCM didnt

I looked up wiring diagram and the 07+ have park/neutral line in the 5 wire connector that the 06- dont. Not sure if it'll affect much, but the rest is all the same. One of the reasons the trans is listed as a different part number between years is the update temp sensor inside the trans.
