Default Improving Fuel Economy On 2007 Impala SS

Let me start off by saying I am fairly new to looking into anything when it comes to my car.

I've heard of air intake devices like the link below that supposedly improve fuel economy...

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Blue-Single-Fan-Turbonator-Turbo-Supercharger-Tornado-Air-Intake-Gas-Fuel-Saver-/221372102061?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Year%3A2006%7CModel%3AImpala%7CSubmodel%3ASS&hash=item338ace35ad&vxp=mtr
My question is, do things like this actually work? In yalls experience what is the best way to improve fuel economy on this car?

I drive 1 1/2 hours to work everyday and half of that time is in traffic, any improvement would be great.

But I'll move this to the LS4 section anyway,

First, what kind of mileage are you getting? While in city traffic or under 50 mph do you put the gear selector in 3 or leave it in D? Tell us more about your car/ mods/fuel used.
