Default Valve Cover Pressure

Ok I was wondering if this is an issue with the DOD or is it something like blow by from the rings or valve seals.

I was having oil usage caused by the DOD so i turned that off and oil being used was solved. It has a little bit of valve train noise when it's cold start. I just recently replaced all trans oil cooler lines and fittings since it came back from body shop from a deer hit since It had a leak on one of the lines I'm thinking it might be due to them replacing radiator and messing with the lines. But the whole underneath of the motor was oily, not sure if it might be oil pan gasket or rear main seal or something. Well after i was all done with oil change had the car running and opened up oil fill cover and you could hear the pressure being released once the cover was released not sure how much would be normal but I put a catch can on the car and just release the output to the air and not back into intake. I wasn't sure if this pressure is a side effect of the issue with the DOD using oil? I guess if it is blow by might someone lend some advice on what there next steps would be?

Many Thanks

Was it oil or trans fluid underneath the car ? The rest of the post was a little confusing how are your lines ran for your catch can?

It sounds like you have your catch can attached to both the vacuum side and the fresh air side. Or the fresh air side ie; the front valve cover hose is pinched or clogged.

Thanks for all replies but I checked hoses no pinches and it breaths like that all the way out of the catch can I only have 3/8 line to vent the valve covers. Now that I reread my post it is confusing. It was a two part question. I think what was leaking was both trans and engine oil the trans part is fixed now all I need to find is where is the engine oil seeping at. Wondering what others have run into for location oil pan or rear seal.

I suppose I could capture the venting and see what kind of pressure I have to see how bad it is. Motor has over 100k on it time for rebuild?

OK here I show your lines should be ran rear valve cover hose to catch can inlet. Then run the outlet to your vacuum source. If you're running 2 catch cans front valve cover to inlet then outlet to Air intake.

Got a pic of everything?
