Trans fluid Today i talked to jeff at engineered the guy who is making the lsd that works in our cars i talked to him about my shutter and we were trying to put are heads together so first he asked me what type of trans fluid am i using i told him dex 6 and said that it is too thin for a modded trans and i should use regular dex/merc i dont know how i feel about that any input on that would be nice he also said to overfill it by one quart i am not doubting him at all being he seem to specialize in building the 4T65
Jeff likes Dex 3 because it's thicker and increases pressure. Unless line pressure is maxed out in the tune, the adaptive shift will compensate by lowering duty cycle - end result is that you'll have harder shifts at WOT because the duty cycle on pressure solenoid should be @100%.
Super D says you can use the earlier Dex, but it's not a synthetic like Dex 6. You can also mix them without much problem, but he generally recommends Dex 6. Jeff is hardcore FWD drag racer... So you might find adding some Dex 3 could help with LSD shutter...??
