Stock intake porting What do you guys think about porting a stock ls4 intake from a 2007 impala ss then doing the ls6 intake swap.I was told that I will get 10hp for $150 and this intake swap cost at least $700-800 just for the damn parts and you only get 15hp.This is all what I have heard from tune shops so if you guys could fill me on some info on what to do that would be awesome.I plan on doing a cam later down road if that helps with answering the question of which one I should do.Thanks

I had mine done at http://fasterproms.net/ with a very nice gain. But I have quite a few other mods also if this is the only thing you have done so far there is other things you should start first.

I have a full custom catback exhaust res delete with no cats,I have a cold air intake by CAI and a ECM/TCM tune done by vector motorsports.what kind of gains did you get from the porting and what mods do you have done?so far I'm leaning torwards porting the stock intake cause why spend $700-800 for only 15hp when the guy that's tuning my car said I will easily get 10hp for only $150

Imo I would not bother with porting....If you ever get a chance to have the two intakes side by side ls1,2,6 you'll see why very quickly.just keep saving money and do it right. Keep your eyes open for deals.
When my car was naturally aspirated I had fasterproms port my stock intake manifold. I picked up at least 2/10ths in the quarter mile after installing it. My car eventually ran a 13.01 on slicks with the ported intake, HS rocker arms, K&N intake kit, magnaflow catback, catless down pipe, shift kit, and diablo lew tune.
