Default Drag slicks

How much time if any will I get off my et running a set of Hoosier Drag radials? I read that the radials will work better with automatics than slicks do. But I am not sure if 850 for two wheels and tires is worth it. Thats the price shipped from Tire Rack mounted balanced and heat cycled. Should I spent this on the tires or on another mod.

Other than people in the turbo/sc 3800 world who got below low-11's, most W-cars were fine running things like Hossier QTP's. They could get as low as 1.6 60fts with proper setup and alot of practice. My best on them was "only" a couple 1.8's in a buddy's 11.4-5@125-6 '04 turbo'd Regal, but I only drove it for 10-12 passes with no prior soft-tire experience.

If you can find a set of the tires elsewhere, and a decent set of wheels to get them put on locally, it may save you a couple hundred. The main concern will be technique in running them, depending on your setup/hp/track. Experience and experiementing will be your best teacher on that.
