LS2/LS3 valley cover for dod delete
I'm also planning on the DoD delete. I have my engine out so it is easier to do 'other things' to it... like clean it out after.
I've just read that you can simply tap and plug the top holes in the block 'towers' that rise up to the underside of the valley pan and are sealed by the O rings.
That would definitely eliminate any flow to the lifters (which will be replaced by conventional anyway).
Has anyone done this? Is there any reason it wouldn't work? Then I could actually keep my current valley pan and simply turn off the DoD functions in the ECM etc. (I wouldn't - just to clean up the looks etc, but I could..)
Really cheap and easy alternative if you can deal with threading and the bit of mess...
Anyone?
