hard to say honestly, i know the mid range should be incredible, but the LSA has me questioning whether or not it will peak at 5800 or somewhere between 6-6200. Have a look at this article right here...

Some good info there. Dyno numbers out of the car are always high, But my guess is you will have more horsepower then you think you will. The rockers really showed some good gains. Looks like the LS3 cam to me would offer the most street ability without different heads. Cant wait to hear this thing.
Seems like a decent upgrade considering the L99 makes 400 HP/410 lb-ft. A benefit would be camshaft phasing, thus delivering VVT (tuning maybe?).

I believe you can go as large as the LS2 cam, the lift is what would be the limiting factor, and I believe .525 is the maximum recommended lift on the DoD lifters.

I also just realized that an L99 camshaft is a single bolt. You would need a reverse of this Lingenfelter kit to make it work: http://www.lingenfelter.com/mm5/merc...8#.VW89ns9VhBd
I was just thinking out loud for a cheap camshaft.

Do we not share the same lifters?

Nope, just make sure you cover the heads with a trash bag or something so nothing gets in the engine while the vc's are off. And make sure they are very clean before you paint them, any sort of oil residue will make the paint come right off. Brake clean or any sort of solvent, and a rough sand is a good way to prep them before primer and paint.

mods to the alt bracket, still trying to see if ill need to take more off for the eventual LS6 intake manifold swap, going by pics from the sticky thread. Even if i never put the manifold on, lopping that section off that covers the harness makes it cake to install the intake manifold.

also wanted to post the final cam card specs on the custom grind, was a little bit different on the exhaust duration then i had originally thought, that will be here monday. If anyone is interested in a custom grind for their LS4, shoot me a pm and I can put you in touch with derek. Ill have pics of the cam on monday once it arrives, then the motor will be getting assembled.

nope, told ya, not taking the bottom end apart. Just a fluke that i had to replace that one rod bearing. Cam bearings have the normal wear and tear on them on the thrust side, otherwise they look fine.
